Trio Sonata
£15.00 – £20.00
Description
The Trio Sonata was written in the early months of 2024. I wanted to write something for flute, alto flute and piano, and was inspired by the baroque trio sonata texture where the upper voices would be of equal importance, sometimes imitating and sometimes working homophonically. The harmonic palate is my usual mix of jazz and fusion with some modernist moments, and I would rate the flute parts as being of medium difficulty. Due to the chromatic nature of my writing, I have chosen to present the score in “open key” so there are no key signatures. The alto flute part is written for the instrument in G. I would like to thank my friend and colleague, the pianist Marco Macchi, for his invaluable assistance in the realization of the piano parts. Geoff Warren, Montesilvano. 2024
