This is not a funeral march for a dead hero, nor for a lost soul. It’s traditional in my homeland of Puglia during Easter week, to hear and see through streets bustling with people, various marching bands, playing sad melodies, tragic marches and some popular songs. This funeral march is a distant childhood memory of that music. The tempo shouldn’t be too fast, but the melodies and harmonies must connect themselves slowly and without any harshness.
