Description

These are arrangements of Weber’s first set of Petites Piéces Facile for piano duet written in 1802, when the composer was just 16 years old. Though simple in pianistic technique they explore a rich harmonic language and sense of drama which hints at the highly original operatic composer to come. Paul Hindemith later used themes from these duets in his Symphonic Metamorphosis for orchestra which he wrote in 1943.
