Description
Passe-temps is the digression from a fixed idea of a snowy day, with the mere thought of discovering new and interesting harmonies and sonorities from the warm, agile tone of the bass clarinet. This short, binary form piece explores the whole range of the bass clarinet, with nimble arpeggios from top to bottom. The harmonies have the feeling of a modal, almost folk-like tune, but spiced with touches of rich chromatiscism throughout.
