Description

Ebbtide is a collection of three duets for clarinet and bassoon which explores the symbolism of an ever-changing coastline as a metaphor for half-forgotten memories that are revealed only to recede again into the fathomless depths of human consciousness, which is musically represented by mainly syncopated rhythms that are restless in nature as they move ever onwards in search of stability. Harmonically speaking the music is ambiguous for the most part with a questing spirit which seeks resolution.
