Apollo

Description
This piece was commissioned by the Apollo Brass Quintet of Denver Colorado. Each movement is inspired by a different NASA exploration into space. The title movement, Apollo, is inspired by the Apollo Spacecraft missions of the 1960’s and 1970’s, including Apollo 11’s historical moon landing. Juno, the second movement, is named for the Juno spacecraft that launched in 2011 and is now in orbit around Jupiter and sending pictures and data about the largest planet in our solar system. The final movement, Voyager, is inspired by the Voyager 1 and Voyage 2 exploration probes and their continued exploration of the solar system and beyond. It culminates in hope and wonder for future discoveries and explorations to come.
