Description
This piece was written for a talented player to perform at a college audition. He had many talents but tended to compromise his performance to make sure he had the stamina to reach the rather typical “high note at the end”. I needed a piece which could show his skills and musicality with an ending that broke with the tradition of soaring high endings. This is in a complex time signature but feels natural and has many skill requirements unrelated to pure stamina.
