Description
Passe-temps is the digression from a fixed idea of a snowy day, with the mere thought of discovering new and interesting harmonies and sonorities from the warm, agile tone of the bass clarinet. Â This short, binary form piece explores the whole range of the bass clarinet, with nimble arpeggios from top to bottom. The harmonies have the feeling of a modal, almost folk-like tune, but spiced with touches of rich chromatiscism throughout.
