Mistress Mine

Description
This piece was written for my wife, who had completed a year as “Mistress” of an ancient Charitable Society. The second part is scored for cornet to provide a contrast with the trumpet and the two trombones. However it can equally well be taken by a second trumpet. In keeping with the teasing title a relaxed swing rhythm is needed, with the written quaver duplets played as loose triplets.
