Melancholy

Description

This piece breathes a spirit of light sadness. Vivid and emotional song-like themes, transparency of the instrumental fabric, a light oriental flavour, so typical of Mediterranean music, the depth of thought and at the same time “minimalistic” conflict-free melody – all of the above provide the musical composition with an absolute integrity and completeness. The original version was created in 2004 for viola and piano. This transcription for Alto Saxophone was made by the composer in 2007. Duration: cca 6¾ minutes.
