Mattachins
£18.75 – £25.00
Description
Mattachins was originally an ancient sword dance performed by Spanish Mattachines in flamboyant costumes. The melody is anonymous and can be heard in many arrangements including Peter Warlock’s Capriol Suite (1926). This arrangement was a special commission by the Bournemouth Symphonic Brass as part of the education outreach programme of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. It is arranged for a brass choir of ten easy-to-play parts with a brass quintet for more advanced players. A tenor drum maintains the steady dance rhythm in the impressive ensemble passages.
