Description
The Lake is a colourful trio piece for flute, bassoon and piano written in an impressionistic style. This piece was inspired by a beautiful mountain lake in Colorado at dusk. The piece has a fluid, melancholy melody along with a playful counter-melody that represents the light dancing on the water as the sun sinks lower in the sky. The flute and bassoon have a soft musical conversation as the piano creates a picturesque ambience that ends ominously as the sun sets and darkness falls.
