These studies are intended for a student of the tenor trombone who is starting to play the alto instrument. They are written in a variety of styles. The earlier pieces are relatively straightforward and designed to familiarise the player with standard and alternative slide positions. The later studies require a more advanced technique and employ the full range of the instrument.
