Three Musical Charms

Description
These three pieces were written to provide the intermediate player with attractive new repertoire that is rewarding to play and listen to. Snake charmers traditionally use a wind instrument to ‘hypnotise’ their snakes, and in the first piece I imagined a charmer weaving his melody, with the piano suggesting the slow response of the snake (as well as the nasty surprise at the end!). The Arietta is in the style of a Baroque slow movement, and Moonlight Calypso evokes a dance on a Caribbean evening.
