Description

Solo Clarinet and Clarinet Quartet (2 Bb clarinets, alto/Bb. bass clarinet).  A full arrangement of Brahms’ famous clarinet quintet Op. 115. The solo part has been transposed for clarinet in Bb, but the keys have been changed so that the fingering remains consistent with the version for clarinet in A. As one would expect from Brahms, this work is technically challenging in all parts. The full range of every instrument is explored, and this is a rhythmically complex piece requuiring a high degree of musicianship to perform well. Nevertheless, this is a piece of standard clarinet repertoire now presented in a new combination of instruments, hopefully making it more accesible to a wider range of players. Well worth the work.
